DHL drives on with 100,000sq ft unit deal
A distribution firm is driving ahead with a property deal.
DHL has agreed to let a 100,000sq ft South Tyneside site.
Bosses say the hub – based on South Shields’ Simonside Industrial Estate – will bolster the operator’s capacity across the borough.
It will replace a 70,000sq ft space split across two units in nearby Hebburn.
Newcastle-based Naylors Gavin Black secured the letting on behalf of landlord Kans and Kandy.
Keith Stewart, Naylors Gavin Black partner, said: “This is the latest in an impressive run we’ve had in delivering large-scale lettings in the region to corporate businesses across a number of sites.
“Kans and Kandy has done an excellent job maximising the potential and standard of this property, and DHL will benefit from a fantastic facility that will improve operations.”
Peter Razaq, Kans and Kandy co-founder and chair, added: “We are delighted to have secured DHL as part of our property portfolio.
“We have worked closely with our project team to provide additional works and look forward to seeing operations commence from the property shortly, following completion of DHL’s fit-out.”
