Suttons IFA appoints new chartered planner
Suttons Independent Financial Advisors has strengthened its team with the appointment of Richard Higgs as chartered financial planner – a newly created role to support the firm’s accelerating growth.
Based in Sale, Suttons has seen its assets under management rise to £300 million following its recent acquisition of Bolton-based Whitewell Financial Planning.
Richard brings 18 years’ experience in financial services and joins from Equilibrium Financial Planning, where he was an associate financial planner for over a decade.
A fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, he also previously held roles at Bank of New York Mellon.
Richard, who is managing a diverse portfolio of clients including individuals, families and business owners, said: “I’m driven by a passion to make a positive difference in the lives of my clients.
“By taking the time to understand their story, values and goals, I create tailored financial plans that reflect their circumstances and help them feel confident about their future.
“Whether it’s guiding someone into retirement, managing sudden wealth, planning how they’ll pass on their assets or overseeing their investments, my focus is always on providing clarity, reassurance and meaningful support.
“I believe in building lasting relationships based on integrity, trust and care, and I’m proud to be part of Suttons, a firm that shares these values wholeheartedly.
“I look forward to playing my part in helping Suttons to grow and bring its plans for the future to fruition as I progress my career with the firm.”
Founded in 2006 by Harvey Sutton, Suttons provides chartered financial planning, wealth management, tax, pensions and retirement advice to professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs.
The 19-strong firm continues to pursue both organic growth and acquisition opportunities.
Managing director Ben Preston added: “Richard brings with him a wealth of experience in financial planning, with particular expertise in the areas of investment management, retirement planning and inheritance tax.
“His appointment further strengthens our team and the service we provide to clients, and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm.
“At Suttons, we believe in creating an environment where our team members can flourish and achieve their most important career ambitions, and we’ve found it be so important to have a team of highly qualified professionals who share our client-first values and collaborative culture.
“Richard is a great fit for Suttons and we’re very excited to see him thrive here and the positive impact he will have as we continue to grow and support our clients.”
