Gosforth welcomes new wellness studio

A new wellness studio in Newcastle is offering a modern approach to yoga and holistic therapies.

SOSA, founded by local wellness enthusiast Emma Cutting, has opened as a new destination for relaxation and self-discovery in Gosforth.

The studio blends traditional yoga practices with contemporary wellbeing techniques, creating a space for both body and mind.

SOSA offers a wide range of classes and therapies, including vinyasa flows, yin yoga, reiki, massage, sound therapy evenings and cacao ceremonies.

Designed as a community hub, the studio accommodates one-to-one sessions, small-group classes and private bookings for events such as hen parties, team away days and girls’ nights.

Classes are capped at eight mats to provide personal guidance in an intimate setting.

Emma’s journey inspires the studio’s ethos.

After a decade-long struggle with a dissociative disorder, she turned to yoga and holistic practices for healing.

Her experiences, supported by international training in India, Bali and Vietnam, shaped SOSA’s mission to provide accessible, transformative wellness experiences.

Emma said: “SOSA has been a true passion project.

“When I first discovered yoga, I needed a space that felt safe, supportive and welcoming; somewhere I could explore without judgement.

“That’s exactly what I’ve built with SOSA.

“It’s not just about movement on the mat, it’s about creating a community where people can learn, grow, and reconnect with themselves.

“I’m so excited to open the doors and welcome people into this space.”

The studio itself is designed for calm and focus, featuring earthy tones, soft lighting and aromatic oils, offering a grounding yet uplifting environment.

SOSA is open seven days a week, with flexible class times and a special ‘New to SOSA’ offer of unlimited classes for 21 days at £30.

Looking ahead, Emma plans to expand SOSA across the North East and into corporate wellbeing programmes, helping more people manage stress, improve health and thrive in everyday life.

She added: “The demands on people today are higher than ever.

“I want SOSA to be a space where people can truly switch off, invest in themselves and feel supported.

“Whether you’re stepping on the mat for the first time or deepening your practice, my hope is that everyone leaves SOSA feeling more balanced, whatever that looks like for them.”
