Vehicle repairs firm 'set to drive on' after growth
A vehicle repairs firm says it is in gear for further expansion across the UK and Ireland after a stronger financial performance.
Smart Repairs says it “has every reason to be confident about the future” after seeing turnover rise ten per cent during the last 12 months.
Bosses say the uptick will push income to £12 million by the end of the year, leaving the Leeds-based bodywork, dent and alloy wheel repairer well placed to grow.
They add its performance was fuelled by higher demand from the insurance sector, with demand doubling for its services, revealing it has also spent more than £1 million on vans and equipment to support its expansion.
Darryl Short, managing director at the 30-year-old business, which delivers around 1000 repairs a day, and works with marques including Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, said: “We have achieved sustained growth across the UK, disrupting the fragmented cosmetic vehicle repair sector.
“Our expansion and consolidation into Ireland has been underpinned by a raft of new deals with dealerships and insurance companies.
“We targeted geographic areas underserved by cosmetic vehicle repair providers, filling a gap in the market.”
Dan Besau, founder and co-chair, said: “We have gone from strength to strength in recent years.
“The future is incredibly bright. Let’s bring it on.”
Phil Newstead, co-chair, added: “The second-hand car market remains buoyant, despite the cost-of-living crisis and the current economic uncertainty.
“The outlook for the sector is positive, and we have every reason to be confident about the future.
“Our future lies in providing a quality repair offer across the UK and Republic of Ireland.”
