Zenith launches one of the North East’s first AI-focused apprenticeships, backed by TSG
Zenith Training has unveiled a pioneering AI-Integrated Apprenticeship programme, one of the first of its kind in the North East, designed to embed artificial intelligence directly into day-to-day workplace practice.
The programme aims to equip the UK workforce with practical, in-demand AI skills while supporting employers in realizing the benefits of digital transformation.
Unlike conventional digital apprenticeships, this initiative placed applied AI at its core.
Learners won’t just study AI theory, they’ll lead real-world implementation projects that deliver measurable improvements for their organisations, from automating routine tasks to generating deeper customer insights.
Zenith is delivering the programme in collaboration with the strategic enablement partner Technology Services Group (TSG), a leading provider of digital transformation services.
TSG will provide expert support across infrastructure, deployment, and the ethical and secure use of tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot, ensuring apprentices can put their learning into action immediately and safely.
“We’re not just developing knowledge, we’re enabling transformation,” said Paul Smissen, director at Zenith Training.
“Through this apprenticeship, learners become change agents within their businesses.
“With TSG’s backing, they have access to the expertise and support needed to deploy AI tools with confidence and purpose.”
The apprenticeship has already gained traction across sectors such as finance, hospitality, manufacturing, and professional services.
Participating employers are seeing immediate value through increased productivity, streamlined operations, and future-ready teams, and while benefiting from fully funded training opportunities.
TSG will work closely with employers to integrate AI solutions into existing systems, establish secure data environments, and ensure that deployments are responsive and aligned with best practices.
A TSG representative added: “We’re proud to support this forward-thinking initiative.
“Our goal to make AI adoption accessible and sustainable, equipping people with the tools, training, and confidence to drive change that lasts.”
As the demand for AI-literate professionals continues to grow, this programme represents a timely and practical investment in the future of the UK workforce, closing the digital gap from the ground up.
We’re now working with employers of all sizes to help them bring this apprenticeship into their teams.
Whether you’re exploring your first steps with AI or looking to accelerate your existing digital capability, our team guide you through what’s possible and how to make it work for your business.
