Paradise Birmingham promotes senior estate team

Paradise Birmingham has made two senior promotions to strengthen its facilities management team and enhance occupier experience across the £1.2 billion business, leisure, residential and visitor destination.

Matthew Walters, formerly Paradise estate manager, is now building manager at One Centenary Way, the estate’s largest commercial building hosting Arup, Goldman Sachs, JLL, Mills & Reeve and Quilter Cheviot.

Matthew said: “Working at Paradise over recent years has enabled me to gain a broad understanding of what is required to deliver a successful estate management team and the approach required to help fulfil the customer service potential of individual buildings.

“Working at One Centenary Way, I will be able to put that knowledge to further use and ensure more occupiers and their staff experience an excellent customer service offering that helps deliver on individual sustainability, net-zero and social value priorities.”

Meanwhile, Lee Wileman takes on the role of estate manager after two years as security manager, bringing extensive security and facilities management experience, including nine years of military service.

Lee added: “Paradise is an estate built around people and to continue to work with the team to deliver this ethos is a huge privilege.

“By ensuring the estate is clean, green, welcoming and safe for everyone who visits it, works here, or lives here, is a fantastic opportunity.”

Matthew and Lee’s appointments reflect Paradise developer MEPC’s commitment to staff development and best-in-class customer service.

The estate already supports over 6000 employees and contributes to Birmingham’s wider community, generating £88 million in social and economic value, supporting local supply chains and creating jobs during construction phases.

Caroline Rudge, commercial manager at Paradise developer and asset manager, MEPC, added: “It is always great to see talented people progress in their careers and it is very rewarding to see both Matt and Lee being acknowledged for their drive and commitment to making Paradise a leading destination for everyone.

“We’re committed to enabling people at every level to learn and develop and move forward in their career by offering new opportunities across the estate.

“Being responsive to others to make Paradise even stronger and more resilient in how it is run and how it protects the communities and environment around us is an essential part of how we deliver a safe, secure and rewarding environment for all those working, living or visiting the estate.”
