Baines Jewitt strengthens North East team

Baines Jewitt, the Stockton-on-Tees accountancy firm, has expanded its team with two new recruits.

Danny Stubbs, a Durham University graduate, joins as audit and accounts senior, bringing experience in local government and public sector auditing and having completed his ACA qualification.

He said: “I found out about the job at Baines Jewitt via a recruitment agency.  

“What really attracted me to the firm, is that I can combine my audit, accounting, tax and advisory skills for the benefit of local businesses.  

“In particular, I’m looking forward to working with a range of clients, including those from the corporate world, sole traders and limited companies.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Myers starts his accountancy career as a trainee accounting technician, having recently finished A Levels and now working towards his AAT qualification.

“I decided against the direct university route, so I sent a speculative email enquiring about vacancies at Baines Jewitt. 

“I was thrilled to be invited for an interview and offered a job. 

“The role will provide lots of relevant first-hand experience, whilst being given the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications and progress my career.

“As a trainee within the firm, I’m gaining practical experience in the workplace by helping with accounts preparation as well as embarking on a professional training programme that includes additional study at a specialist North East training centre.”
