Builder breaks ground on bungalow scheme
A housebuilder has started work on a near-50-home scheme.
Lochay Homes has broken ground on the former Wellington School site near Penicuik, in Midlothian.
Bosses say the development will deliver up to 46 two to four-bedroom bungalows.
They add the first properties will hit the market next summer, with plans in place to include heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicle charging points across the estate.
Jamie Thomson, commercial director at Edinburgh-based Lochay Homes, said: “It’s fantastic to see work starting on this exciting development.
“We hope these homes will deliver genuinely lower energy bills and provide the flexibility and accessibility buyers are looking for.”
He added the development will see more than 1000 trees planted alongside orchard areas, hedgerows and shrubs.
