New addition joins Artech lighting team
Artech Lighting has strengthened its design team with the appointment of Harrison Jones as junior lighting designer.
Harrison, 22, recently graduated from Northumbria University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and joins the Durham City-based business to work on a variety of global projects.
Born and raised in Barnard Castle, he is keen to develop his skills, aiming to become a fully qualified lighting designer and lead projects from initial design through to installation while building on his architectural background.
Harrison said, “I really enjoyed the creative freedom of architecture, but I became increasingly fascinated with the industries that run parallel to it, while still allowing me space to be creative, which is what initially drew me to lighting.”
In his new role, Harrison will work closely with the lighting design and estimating team to create innovative, efficient lighting plans for a range of projects, developing his technical knowledge and skills.
He added: “I’m really excited about joining this great team and grateful for the opportunity to work on landmark projects with renowned brands and Artech’s approach to innovation, and collaboration, as well as bringing people with different skillsets together is something I’m really looking forward to being a part of.”
Artech Group designs, develops and manufactures advanced lighting solutions for projects worldwide from its Durham City headquarters.
Gary Ainsworth, lighting design and estimating manager, added: “We’re pleased to welcome Harrison on board and he’s off to a flying start working closely with the team to learn the many different aspects of the role.
“We’re excited to see what his future at Artech holds, and we know his passion and energy will be a huge benefit to the business.”
