Knights bolsters Colchester real estate team
Knights has expanded its Colchester office with the appointment of Julie Hoy as partner in real estate.
A specialist in residential development, Julie brings over 20 years of experience and deep knowledge of the South East property market.
She works with national housebuilders, developers and registered providers on large-scale housing schemes, with expertise spanning strategic land, promotion, land acquisition, disposals and planning.
Julie also advises on biodiversity net gain projects, renewable energy and infrastructure schemes, as well as urban extensions, regeneration and mixed-use developments.
She said: “It’s an extremely exciting time to have joined Knights, who are the standout regional professional services firm nationally.
“The firm’s unique one team approach and national scale, combined with its strong local presence across Essex and the South East as a whole, provides a brilliant platform to deliver excellent service for clients.
“I am already seeing the benefit of working as part of such a talented team.”
Julie’s appointment follows Knights’ entry into Essex through the acquisition of Birkett Long in June, giving the firm a permanent presence across Colchester, Chelmsford, and Basildon.
With 1350 professionals in 32 offices nationwide, Knights ranks among the UK’s top 50 law firms by revenue.
Martin Hopkins, regional client services director at Knights, added: “Julie is a vastly experienced real estate specialist, has a great reputation locally and is a brilliant addition to the team here in Colchester, which is fantastic for our clients and colleagues as we strive to deliver the very best legal advice.
“Julie joins us at an exciting time of growth not just regionally here in Essex but nationally, with yet more talented professionals set to join the business in the weeks and months to come as we look to deliver on our ambitious plans for growth."
