George heads to Hull with fresh concept
A supermarket chain’s Hull store is set for a style boost this autumn.
Asda is bringing its new George concept store to Anlaby Retail Park, offering customers the latest in clothing, homeware and lifestyle products under one roof.
The Hull store is the second standalone George location following a successful pilot in Leeds earlier this year and forms part of Asda’s wider strategy to replace its Asda Living format with dedicated George stores.
A contemporary layout showcases an expanded clothing range for men, women and children, while shoppers can get early access to the new George Christmas collection, including partywear, festive nightwear, decorations and the exclusive Erica Davies gifting line.
A spacious home department will showcase interiors, garden and lifestyle products alongside celebrity collaborations.
The store also includes toys, gifts, party essentials and baby items, while click & collect and self-serve options provide a faster, more convenient shopping experience.
Liz Evans, managing director at George, said: “Our pilot George store in Leeds has been a tremendous success, thanks to the dedication and passion of our colleagues and the fantastic response from customers.
“It’s shown us just how much love there is for the George brand and our hero product categories.
“Building on that momentum, we’re excited to bring the stand-alone George store concept to Hull giving even more customers the opportunity to enjoy an inspiring, easy-to-shop experience that celebrates everything they know and love about George.
“This next step marks another milestone in our journey to evolve with our customers, offering them a truly engaging and seamless shopping experience driven by our people, our products, and our passion for the brand.”
The Hull George store opens at 9am on Friday, October 31, with a special in-store launch event, with the first 100 customers receiving a free candle valued at £10.
