Teesside Airport forges new Guernsey link

A North East airport is set to expand its summer flight options for holidaymakers.

Teesside International Airport will launch a new route to Guernsey from May to September 2026, operated by Premier Holidays.

The service builds on the success of the airport’s existing Jersey flights, giving passengers more flexibility and choice for summer breaks.

Flights to Guernsey will stop in Jersey, allowing travellers to enjoy two of the Channel Islands’ most scenic destinations in a single trip.

Guernsey is known for its dramatic coastal scenery, historic landmarks, boutique shopping and fine dining experiences.

Visitors can explore the cobbled streets of St Peter Port, relax on Vazon Bay, or discover the island’s Second World War heritage.

The summer months on Guernsey also feature a busy events calendar, including open-air concerts, seafood festivals and vibrant floral displays, making it an appealing option for families, couples and solo travellers alike.

Mark Godfrey, director of Premier Holidays, said: “We have worked closely with Teesside Airport for a number of years and are delighted to once again be operating a weekly service to Jersey through the summer months but giving clients greater choice in 2026 by offering an onward flight to Guernsey opening up both a new destination and island-hopping opportunities across the Channel Islands.”

Premier Holidays’ 2026 programme offers a range of flexible holiday packages and durations, with flights operating every Tuesday.

Phil Forster, managing director of Teesside Airport, added: “We’re thrilled to be strengthening our partnership with Premier Holidays and bringing even more choice to people across Teesside and the wider region.

“Guernsey is a fantastic destination, and our Channel Islands services have long been popular.

“This new link gives our passengers the chance to discover something new – and it’s another example of how Teesside is continuing to grow, offering more routes and more opportunities.”

Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen added: “It’s always good to bring in more routes to our airport and make it easier for local people to fly from here, so it’s fantastic to have secured a new link to Guernsey next summer and I’d urge people to keep using us.

“We’ve got a busy winter ahead at the airport with Malaga and Alicante running all year round on Ryanair – and the Amsterdam KLM route continuing to link us to the world as the nights draw in.

“We’re working extremely hard hammering on the door of operators to bring even more routes and flights from Teesside for next summer.”
