Tech consultancy drives global growth surge
A Newcastle-based technology consultancy is set to accelerate its international expansion.
Test Driven Solutions (TDS), founded in 2020 by Sam Clark, has grown from a six-figure start-up to an eight-figure global business in just five years, operating without external investment.
Specialising in software development, testing, platform engineering and user-centred design, the company, which has its headquarters on Newcastle’s Quayside, now employs more than 160 people across offices in Newcastle, Poland and Canada.
The consultancy serves clients across financial services, public sector and other industries, delivering 24/7 support.
TDS is preparing to open a new office in Edinburgh in early 2026 and plans a base in Latin America later the same year, extending its global reach and delivery capabilities.
To aid its growth, the firm has made several senior appointments, including David McAvelia as chief revenue officer; Andy Thompson as chief of staff; Adrian Pollard as financial director; and Jack Reed as head of technology service.
Sam said: “When I founded TDS, my goal was to build a consultancy that truly cared about its people, one where quality, culture and collaboration came first.
“The growth we’ve achieved over the past five years has been incredible, but it’s been built on our values and our people.
“As we enter this next phase of expansion, I’m proud to welcome our new leadership team, who bring the experience, insight and drive needed to take TDS to the next level, while staying true to who we are.
“The opening of our Edinburgh office and our expansion into Latin America mark an exciting new chapter in our journey, and I’m confident the best is yet to come.”
