Cundall 'sets stage for future' with office move
A global engineering consultancy says it has “set the stage for its future” after completing a North East headquarters switch.
Cundall has moved to Newcastle’s Bank House.
Bosses say its tenth-floor base will maintain the firm’s international growth ambitions from the city where it launched its first office nearly 50 years ago.
They add the move carries added significance, with Cundall having supported the design and delivery of Bank House, and the neighbouring Pilgrim Place office and leisure development.
Carole O’Neil, managing partner, said: “This new office not only celebrates our legacy in Newcastle, but also sets the stage for our future.
“While we now have offices all over the world, our roots remain firmly in Newcastle, and we’re proud to be part of the city’s continued evolution.”
The office was fitted out through a collaboration between Cundall, Space Architects and contractor B&K, and includes furniture repurposed from its former Gosforth headquarters.
It also features plants and preserved moss to enhance air quality and mood, a waterfall crafted from recycled materials, a media room and a wellbeing room.

Jim Allen, partner and Newcastle office lead, said: “The design reflects the creativity and expertise of our team, and the considerate, multi-disciplinary design that is behind every one of our projects.
“We’ve designed a space that prioritises natural light, acoustic comfort and the wellbeing of staff.
“The space is flexible, welcoming and built to be adapted for both work and client events.”
