UNW appoints senior manager to due diligence team
Newcastle-based chartered accountants UNW have strengthened its corporate finance team with the appointment of Stephen Twaddle as senior manager in its due diligence division.
Stephen joins from Deloitte, where he spent eight years progressing from audit to senior manager in transaction services.
He brings extensive experience in financial due diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions and refinancing projects across a wide range of sectors.
At UNW, Stephen will support clients with acquisitions and disposals as the firm continues to grow its regional due diligence offering.
He said: “UNW’s due diligence offering has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and the opportunity to be part of that growth really excites me.
“The firm’s independence and entrepreneurial spirit create a unique environment where you can make a real difference – supporting businesses both in the region and beyond.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team to develop the strong due diligence service further and contributing to UNW’s continued success.”
In 2025, UNW’s due diligence team completed 14 projects across industrials, TMT, business services and Energy, with deal values from £1 million to £30 million, totalling over £115 million.
Danny Malone, head of due diligence at UNW, added: “We are delighted to welcome Stephen to UNW.
“Having joined us from Deloitte, he brings valuable transaction services experience and will further enhance our financial due diligence offering.
“The addition of Stephen to our growing team sends a strong signal about our ambitions and our commitment to placing deliverable quality and client experience front and centre.
“I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to take UNW’s due diligence service onwards and upwards.”
