Builder set for £65 million derelict uni site revamp
A housebuilder is set to break ground on a £65 million scheme.
Bellway has secured approval to create a 140-plus property venture in Liverpool.
The estate will replace the University of Liverpool’s derelict Carnatic Halls site and is primed to include 65 one and two-bedroom apartments and 78 three, four and five-bedroom homes.
Bosses say construction will begin “imminently”, with the development planned to be finished by late 2028.
They add the endeavour, which will be known as Carnatic Park, will “leave a lasting positive legacy”.
David Williams, Bellway North West managing director, said: “We are incredibly excited about Carnatic Park.
“We have thought long and hard about every element, from the landscaping and public open space plan, to the elevational treatments of the different house types and the materials used.
“Landscaping has been a key consideration; we are delighted to be introducing new public walkways and areas of public open green space.”
