Leyton logistics hub set to create hundreds of jobs
A London-based logistics project is set to create hundreds of new jobs.
Construction has started on Leyton Logistics Hub, a 210,000sq ft multi-let industrial and logistics development that could generate up to 480 roles once complete.
The scheme will feature 11 units ranging from 6000 to 36,000sq ft, designed to meet EPC A+ and BREEAM Outstanding standards while aligning with climate change mitigation targets.
Padrock, a London-headquartered logistics and light-industrial developer, has appointed Glencar Construction to deliver the £130 million project, with practical completion expected in mid-2026.
The site, located off the A406 North Circular Road and close to the A12, will offer modern, sustainable industrial space with green walls and roofs.
Mark Symonds, partner at Padrock, which also has hubs in Dagenham, Hertford and Erith, said: “Leyton Logistics Hub is a significant development for Padrock as it further reinforces our expertise at identifying, securing and delivering strategically located sites which serve London.
“Our partnership with Glencar Construction will allow us to build high quality, sustainable and flexible space which will provide Leyton with a long-term economic asset.
“We are experiencing strong occupier interest and, now that work is underway, we are entering into advanced negotiations with a number of parties who we hope to announce in due course.”
Agents for the project are Lambert Smith Hampton, DTRE and Glenny.
