Aspire Lounge soars above the rest
A North East airport is celebrating after one of its premium lounges was named the best in the UK.
The Aspire Executive Lounge at Newcastle International Airport has been crowned ‘Best International Airport Lounge in the UK’ at the World Luxury Travel Awards, voted for by passengers and industry experts.
Operated by Swissport International, the facility offers three tiers of luxury: the classic Aspire Lounge, Luxe by Aspire and The Suite by Aspire, accommodating more than 300 guests.
Each space provides complimentary food, drinks, high-speed Wi-Fi and entertainment, while the Luxe and Suite lounges offer elevated services including private work areas and á la carte dining with views of the airfield.
The award follows a major refurbishment and reopening in 2024, part of a £20 million investment in the airport’s wider facilities.
Dean Ward, director of commercial at Newcastle Airport, said: “It’s fantastic that the Aspire Executive Lounge at Newcastle Airport has been named the Best International Airport Lounge in the UK at the World Luxury Awards.
“This award is a testament to our longstanding partnership with Aspire and our shared commitment to ensure passengers enjoy the best possible experience at the Airport.
“All three tiers of the lounge continue to be hugely popular, offering passengers the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy delicious food and drink before their flight.”
