Engineer lifted by fresh airport inspection deal
An engineering firm has added thrust to operations with an airport deal.
Dudleys Consulting Engineers has secured an inspection work contract at Leeds Bradford Airport.
The brief includes assessing the site’s 30ft radar masts and builds on a partnership to help deliver the second phase of a £100 million terminal upgrade at the site.
The Leeds-based firm has supported the airport for more than 15 years, advising on areas including airside aprons, building alterations, car parks, masts and tunnels.
Andy Walker, Dudleys’ managing director, said: “The repurposing of existing buildings supports the airport’s sustainability agenda, but the works are not without challenges.
“We are working with the design team to reconfigure a series of buildings of varying decades and build composition to provide a seamless terminal with futureproof qualities.
“Our advice supports the delivery of new staircases, escalators, lifts and walkways, as well as important integration with the new building.”
Dudleys’ client list also includes Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate; Leeds United Football Club; and Henry Boot Construction.
