Commercial Services Group appoints group chief executive

Commercial Services Group has appointed Rob Boyles as its next group chief executive officer, effective from April 1 next year.

Rob, who currently serves as chief financial officer, will succeed Matt Johnson, who will remain involved with the organisation as external independent chair of the mergers and acquisitions panel.

He said: “I’m honoured to take on the role of group chief executive, having been part of Commercial Services Group’s leadership team during an incredible period of growth and transformation.

“We have an exceptional team, strong partnerships across the public and private sectors, and a clear purpose: to deliver value, innovation, and impact for the communities we serve.”

Rob’s appointment follows a period of significant transformation for the Group.

Under Matt’s leadership, Commercial Services Group has brought together 33 specialist trading brands under one structure, delivered three consecutive years of record growth and expanded its role across education, local government, housing, health, energy and the wider public sector.

The Group has also completed several strategic acquisitions, launched new ventures such as Impact Energy Partners and established a number of public-to-public joint ventures with local authorities.

Matt added: “It has been a privilege to lead Commercial Services Group and to work alongside such dedicated and talented people.

“Together, we’ve built a strong, purpose-driven organisation that delivers real impact for customers and communities every day.

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and look forward to supporting the Group’s continued growth in my new role.”

Philip Dearing, chair of the Commercial Services Group board, added: “Matt has achieved what he set out to do – bringing Commercial Services Group together as one organisation, creating a culture of growth and impact, and delivering consistent financial performance and social value.

“We thank him for his exceptional leadership and are delighted he will remain closely involved in the Group’s next phase of development.

“Rob has been instrumental in the Group’s success as chief financial officer, and his appointment as group chief executive ensures strong continuity of leadership and a clear focus on continued growth and delivery.”
