Oulton Hall Hotel & Spa appoints new general manager
The QHotels Collection has appointed Paul Bayliss MBE as general manager at Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, one of its flagship properties in the North of England.
Paul brings more than 30 years of senior hospitality experience to the role, having led award-winning operations at destinations including Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa, the Hotel Brooklyn brand, Carden Park Hotel Golf Resort and Spa, The Midland Hotel in Manchester, and multiple Macdonald Hotels across the UK.
He began his career as a chef in the British Army at the age of fifteen, later serving as an officer and personal chef to senior military personnel, including members of the Royal Family.
A long-time advocate for chef development and hospitality training, Paul was awarded an MBE for his contribution to the sector.
At Oulton Hall, he will focus on elevating guest experience across the resort – from afternoon tea and spa services to golf, events and staff development – with a strategy built on people-focused leadership, high-quality service and targeted innovation.
Paul said: “Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is an iconic property with everything it needs to be the very best.
“My vision is clear: to turn this into the best hotel in the UK.
“Over the next five to ten years, I will focus on developing our teams, delivering world-class service, and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
“From fine dining and spa offerings to golf, events, and weddings, we want every element to deliver the ultimate ‘wow factor’ and position Oulton Hall as a must-visit destination locally and nationally.
Located within a historic West Yorkshire estate, Oulton Hall offers luxury bedrooms, suites, dining, spa and golf facilities, as well as extensive wedding and event space.
