YPO leader appointed to BESA executive council
YPO has confirmed the appointment of its head of education business, Martin Armytage, to the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) executive council, strengthening the organisation’s voice within the UK education supply sector.
Martin was selected following a rigorous process that saw three new members appointed from a field of 19 candidates.
He joins the council as one of the sector’s most experienced practitioners, bringing over 35 years of expertise in education business development, customer service and strategic programme delivery.
In his role at YPO, Martin leads the organisation’s education offering and oversees its approach to supporting schools and educators nationwide.
His long career has included responsibility for YPO’s publications function, becoming one of the organisation’s youngest senior managers at 21, and later developing its long-running CPD programme, which attracted more than 3000 teachers annually.
Martin has also spearheaded several major internal projects, including YPO’s transition to a digital catalogue management system, as well as the introduction of the Institute of Customer Service and the organisation’s first customer relationship management system.
He said: “I’m honoured to join the BESA executive council and contribute to an organisation that plays such a vital role in supporting education suppliers and driving innovation across the sector.
“Having worked in education for over three decades, I’m passionate about ensuring schools and educators have access to the best resources and services.
“I look forward to collaborating with my fellow council members to help shape the future of our industry.”
