Vuba relocates to Hull tech hub
A fast-growing Yorkshire manufacturer is preparing for its next phase of growth after moving to a tech hub in Hull.
Wykeland Group has confirmed that Vuba will relocate its headquarters to the final available building at the developer’s @TheDock campus in the city’s Fruit Market.
The move brings one of Europe’s fastest-growing manufacturing businesses into the heart of Hull’s digital community, completing more than a decade of investment in the waterfront site.
Vuba, known for its innovative permeable surfacing products, was one of the early members of the digital network that inspired Wykeland to create the C4DI tech hub.
Its return to the area will see the business take over an 11,000sq ft building, with bosses saying it will help accelerates its digital operations and expand its growing team of marketers, videographers, content creators and developers.
Sean Scott, managing director at Vuba, said: “Our move to @TheDock is a real statement of intent.
“It represents our growth as a forward-thinking digital business, and recognises us as a major employer and an exciting place to work.
“It’s a fitting reward for our staff, who have played such a significant role in the business growing to where it is today.
“We wanted to provide the team with a quality place to work and, in our new office, we have achieved exactly that.”
Founded in 2009, Vuba has grown rapidly through a blend of product innovation and a strong digital presence, now reaching customers in 15 European countries and North America.
Its popular Easihold stone binder recently secured The King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation.
Neil Riseham, property director at Wykeland, added: “We’re delighted that Vuba have chosen @TheDock as the location for their new headquarters.
“It brings one of the region’s fastest-growing and most innovative companies into the tech community and is another major boost for the Fruit Market.
“A key driver behind Vuba’s move is to connect with @TheDock’s established and thriving tech community.
“Being close to C4DI and within the wider development will accelerate Vuba’s product development and innovation, helping to maintain their leading position in the industry.
“We’re pleased to have secured a fantastic occupier for the final building within the @TheDock development.
“It is the culmination of a decade-long story of investment across the tech campus, which has supported the growth and evolution of dozens of digital businesses.”
