Wealth manager joins Sharks lineup
A rugby club has launched new partnership to strengthen its business network for the season ahead.
Sale Sharks have teamed up with global wealth manager UBS, which will sponsor the club’s Business Club for the 2025/26 campaign.
The collaboration aims to give entrepreneurs and companies across the region opportunities to connect, collaborate and grow through a series of events held throughout the year.
Bosses say the partnership will provide businesses with access to UBS’s Manchester-based wealth management team, which brings expertise in banking, investment and financial planning, backed by the reach of the global UBS network.
Luisa d’Aprano, Sale Sharks’ commercial director, said: “Our Business Club is all about working with our partners and connecting with the local business community in the North West to build lasting relationships.
“It’s also a chance for us to strengthen our ties with the northern business community and take people behind the scenes at Sale Sharks, to share how we do things on and off the field to create a high-performance culture.
“Our events are the perfect opportunity to celebrate what makes business in our region so special and UBS is the perfect partner to do that.
“As a business they share our values, they’re passionate about the growth of Northern business and I’m confident this will be the start of a fantastic relationship.”
UBS will also sponsor the club’s annual Foundation Day matchday, supporting the work of the Sale Sharks Foundation, which delivers programmes in schools and communities across the North West.
The Business Club’s new season will begin with an event titled ‘In With the New’ on Wednesday, December 3, offering guests the chance to meet key coaching staff, new signings and team leaders at a city centre venue.
Bradley Russell, head of Manchester and the North West at UBS Global Wealth Management, added: “At UBS, we’re passionate about supporting the communities in which we do business and we’ve seen exponential growth in Manchester over the last few years, with the North West becoming home to some of the UK’s most successful enterprises.
“We’re looking forward to joining forces with the team at Sale Sharks to share our knowledge, offer support and help take some of these businesses to the next level.”
