Sage Group hails future as AI charges demand
A North East-founded international software firm has hailed its growth potential amid an artificial intelligence boom.
Sage Group says it is “well positioned” for growth as demand for its smart systems grows.
Bosses say clamour for its Copilot-branded financial and accounting automation assistant and artificial intelligence agents is “creating significant opportunity” for success.
The update came in a trading report for the year to September 30, which showed statutory operating profit was 17 per cent better off at £530 million on the back of revenue rising eight per cent to £2.5 billion.
Hailing its progress, chief executive Steve Hare said the Newcastle-founded business, which was named the number one company in North Tyneside by turnover at The NET 250, was primed for growth.
He said: “We are excited by the pace of technological change.
“Artificial intelligence is opening up new possibilities for businesses, enabling us to enhance and accelerate the benefits our software provides.
“Sage Copilot is already creating value, while our launch of artificial agents is delivering the next wave of intelligent solutions.
“We are exceptionally well positioned to support small and mid-sized businesses as they adopt artificial intelligence-enabled services.
“This drives confidence in our ability to deliver strong, sustainable growth.”
Sage Group listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1989 and began entering international markets in earnest from the early 1990s.
Today, the firm, which runs operations from North Tyneside’s Cobalt Business Park, serves millions of customers across countries in mainland Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and Latin America.
It has further UK bases in London, Manchester, Bristol and Wokingham.
