Engineering firm to support Wynyard scheme

A North East engineering firm is set to support the delivery of a new housing development.

Newcastle-based RWO has been appointed to provide civil and structural engineering services for Cameron Hall Homes’ latest project at Wynyard Village near Stockton-on-Tees.

The firm is working on a 13.9-hectare site at Stoney Wood, where phase one will deliver 76 two to five-bedroom homes, with a further 81 properties planned for phase two, subject to approval.

RWO is supplying a full package of technical support, including pre-planning work, flood risk analysis, design services and sewage adoption agreements, alongside geoenvironmental expertise to address challenging ground conditions on the site.

The Seaton Burn-based firm is also supporting the development of a new commercial centre for Wynyard Village.

The scheme will include 12 units – two of them two-storey – and will be available for local businesses to lease.

Sam Innes, executive director at RWO, said: "We are delighted to develop our partnership with Cameron Hall Homes, supporting them on this major significant development.

“Our residential offering continues to expand, and this latest work comes as we expect to see even more demand in the residential sector this year.”

Dave Knowles, technical manager at Cameron Hall Homes, added: “RWO is an important partner on these projects, adding value to our own operations with critical residential engineering insight, experience and expertise in large scale pre-planning design work and civils projects.”

Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with completion later that year.

The contract comes amid continued growth for RWO, which now employs 41 people and is targeting revenues of £4.4 million in the next financial year, driven by strong demand across the data centre, energy and infrastructure sectors.
