College breaks ground on 50-bed student scheme
A learning provider has broken ground on a student accommodation scheme.
Coleg Cambria Llysfasi is laying foundations to create a 50-bed development.
Bosses say the Denbighshire-based hub will “further enhance the college’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading land-based education providers”.
They add it will feature en-suite bedrooms, social breakout areas and communal zones.
The venture has been designed by Wrexham-based TACP Architects, with building work overseen by fellow city firm Read Construction.
It follows the recent opening of the college’s £10 million Innovation Hub, which includes classrooms, laboratories, a library, climbing wall, coffee shop and meeting spaces.
Elin Roberts, head of Llysfasi, said: “We’re laying the foundations for what will be a fantastic addition.
“Over recent years, we’ve seen a 70 per cent increase in student numbers and a rise in apprentices joining us from across the UK through partnerships with major industry names such as AGCO and Kubota.
“This new facility will meet growing demand and ensure our learners have access to the best possible accommodation in one of the most beautiful rural settings in Wales.”
Alex Read, director at Read Construction, added: “Our continued collaboration with Coleg Cambria Llysfasi reflects a shared commitment to delivering impactful educational infrastructure.
“This latest development supports the college’s vision for growth and excellence in student experience.”
