Full fibre boost for Newcastle
A connectivity provider is rolling out new digital infrastructure to support growing demand across Newcastle.
ITS has switched on a brand new full fibre network in the city, bringing gigabit-capable connectivity to more than 4000 businesses.
The move will benefit organisations across sectors including health, education and technology, as well as major employment hubs such as Newcastle Helix, the National Innovation Centre for Data and the wider Digital Quarter.
Dave Ferry, chief sales officer at ITS, said: “Newcastle is a city with real momentum, where industries and organisations are embracing digital transformation.
“By switching on our network here, we’re giving businesses access to the infrastructure they need to compete, innovate and grow.
“Full fibre has become essential to the digital economy – from powering the cloud to enabling AI – and this rollout will help organisations take advantage of the technologies shaping the future.”
The high-capacity network forms part of ITS’s national rollout, which now reaches more than a quarter of all UK business premises.
Further projects are already underway as the company continues its plans to extend full fibre access to more towns and cities.
Businesses can order services through ITS’s network of partners, including resellers, managed service providers and internet providers offering additional IT solutions such as voice, storage and security.
