Auditsu secures £200,000 in PraeSeed’s support
A Yorkshire-based tech startup is celebrating new investment after being named among the latest cohort of northern businesses supported through a regional funding programme.
Auditsu, based in Leeds, is one of eight early-stage companies to receive £200,000 from PraeSeed, the six-week investment initiative delivered by NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance and PXN Ventures.
The programme, now in its second year, has invested a total of £3 million to date to help startups across the North of England scale and prepare for further growth.
Auditsu develops technology that automates accessibility audits for mobile applications, helping organisations manage compliance requirements more efficiently.
It is the only West Yorkshire business to secure funding in this year’s cohort.
Jason Crispin, founder and chief executive of Auditsu, said: “Accessibility regulation has moved faster than most companies expected, and the European Accessibility Act has made compliance a priority rather than an option. AUDITSU is building the infrastructure that helps businesses keep pace.
“This investment gives us the momentum to support the organisations that have already signed up with us, and to scale the platform they’ll depend on going forward.”
The eight successful companies were selected from a shortlist of 12 following a summer programme of workshops, mentoring and presentations covering go-to-market strategy, financial modelling, fundraising and operational leadership.
Jess Jackson, PraeSeed lead, added: “PraeSeed is all about finding ambitious Northern businesses seeking to solve big problems, and Auditsu’s founder Jason brought to life a huge and largely unseen issue when it comes to accessibility in tech.
“Websites and apps that we use every day and rely on to perform essential tasks from banking to travel often aren’t suitable for those with accessibility needs.
“Auditsu’s tool could give brands the ability to quickly identify and address issues before deployment, and given recent EU regulation in this domain, we’re excited for Auditsu to enter the market and start to drive these changes.”
The next PraeSeed cohort will launch in March, with founders encouraged to monitor upcoming announcements.
