Dates for 2026 Seaham Food Festival confirmed
A popular North East food event is preparing for its return next summer, with organisers opening applications for traders.
Delivered by Durham County Council, Seaham Food Festival will take place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August, bringing street food, sweet treats, local produce and family-friendly entertainment to the town’s seafront.
The festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and features more than 120 traders from across the region.
Applications are now open for businesses interested in securing a stall, with organisers asking for details on products, images, social media links and recent accolades.
Traders have until Thursday, February 12 to apply online.
The festival’s cookery theatre will return with live demonstrations from TV chefs, with the full line-up due to be announced next year.
Councillor Karen Allison, Durham County Council cabinet member for leisure, tourism, regeneration and high street, said: “Seaham Food Festival is a fantastic opportunity for traders looking to get their name out there and increase the size of their customer-base, benefiting from the thousands of visitors that come along to enjoy the festival.
“We encourage anyone who is interested in having a stall at this popular event to get their application in as soon as possible.
“Our food festivals are a much-loved part of our events calendar and bring a major boost to local businesses and the wider visitor economy.
“We like to start our preparations early to make sure our events are enjoyed by as many people as possible.”
