Feasibly secures funding to advance AI platform
A climate-tech start-up is accelerating its mission to tackle renewable-energy planning delays after securing new investment.
Feasibly, founded by Durham University graduates Beth Holloway and Leo Thomson, has raised £200,000 through PraeSeed, the six-week cohort-based investment programme delivered by NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance and PXN Ventures.
The latest funding round brings the company’s total investment to more than £500,000, including earlier Innovate UK support.
Feasibly’s technology aims to address one of the UK’s most costly climate hurdles, with more than 80 per cent of renewable-energy projects currently failing during planning and delaying progress toward national net-zero targets.
Beth and Leo say the new capital will allow the start-up to double its engineering team and prepare for commercial launch.
Its platform is already being trialled by UK developers, with the PraeSeed programme and NPIF II backing set to accelerate product development and early rollout.
Leo Thomson, co-founder at Feasibly, said: “A developer can simply ask, ‘Find all ten-hectare plots in the North East, within 3 km of a substation, not on protected land,’ and get an answer instantly.
“We’ve built a foundational geospatial engine to automate the development workflow, de-risking projects before millions are spent.”
Beth Holloway, co-founder at Feasibly, added: “We need to scale energy installations rapidly, and that starts with building in the right places.
“By automating spatial data analysis and communication, key stakeholders in critical infrastructure can communicate instantly.
“We are building the AI for infrastructure that builds itself.”
Jess Jackson, PraeSeed lead, added: “Solving big problems with exciting technology is foundational for companies who join our PraeSeed programme, and Feasibly was certainly no exception to this.
“We were excited by the capability of the product, and the demonstration that users are keen to adopt it into their workflows.
“Beth and Leo are incredibly passionate and driven founders, and we look forward to working with them to change the way planning is delivered.”
