Harrogate firm takes on 5000-home projects
A Yorkshire-based engineering consultancy is expanding its footprint after securing work across several residential developments in the West Midlands.
Tate Consulting, headquartered in Harrogate, is now involved in five of Birmingham’s largest build-to-rent projects, collectively delivering more than 5000 new homes.
Its latest appointment is a 456-apartment scheme on Kent Street, a joint venture between McLaren Living and HEIM Global, with Winvic Construction as principal contractor ahead of a 2029 completion.
The consultancy has recently finished work on Loudon’s Yard, the first phase of Moda Living and Calthorpe Estates’ New Garden Square masterplan, which delivered 398 homes and 14,000sq ft of resident amenities.
Tate is now supporting the next phase, including a 37-storey tower within the wider plan for 2400 homes, offices and retail.
Further projects include Moda’s Great Charles Street development in the Jewellery Quarter, offering 722 homes, and the 995-home Stone Yard scheme in Digbeth, where Tate is providing full MEP services.
Jim Lee, director at Tate Consulting, said: “Although we work across all sectors, throughout the UK and Europe, we have a vast amount of experience working on residential towers and we’re currently involved with some of the tallest residential buildings outside London, including developments in Leeds, Birmingham, and Manchester, delivering thousands of much needed homes.
“This is particularly true in Birmingham where we’re involved with five major developments that will offer more than 5000 high quality homes.
“A large part of our success in Birmingham is based on our ability to deliver projects on time and on budget, as well as correctly interpreting the client brief and always collaborating with the wider team at all project stages to add value, identify efficiencies and consistently deliver high performing MEP solutions.”
