Hospitality star steps up to lead The Lesters Arms

Mia Williams has been promoted to general manager of The Lesters Arms, marking a major milestone in her hospitality career at just 25 years old.

Born and raised in Brewood, she has been part of the venue since its transformation from a derelict building into a thriving dining destination in April 2024.

In her new role, Mia will oversee day-to-day operations, staff management, service standards and compliance.

Her promotion comes as The Lesters Arms celebrates a successful festive period, with its five-course Christmas Day menu selling out.

Mia said: “I’ve loved being part of the journey so far, helping bring a once much-loved pub back to life and creating a discerning drinking and dining experience that locals really appreciate, and people drive miles for.

“We’ve worked really hard to produce something that you can’t get anywhere else, whether that’s the high-end furnishings and city-centre gastro pub feel, to our selection of ales, craft beers and cocktails.”

She added: “Our chefs have also been recruited from some of the best restaurants in the UK and are bringing their own unique flavours and meal inspirations, all using the very best local produce.

“Christmas is going to be great. Whilst the 25th is already full, we have got space for our festive menu during December, not to mention several themed events planned to get everyone in the ‘yuletide’ mood.”

Mia, who first started in hospitality whilst studying at university, added: “Prior to being here, I worked in events and as a wedding co-ordinator and I just love the buzz of delivering a memorable experience to people.

“That’s what I want to build on at The Lesters Arms, making us the number one gourmet destination in Staffordshire.”

The restaurant now seats up to 60 guests inside and similar numbers outside, with views across the Brewood countryside.

Under head chef Phil Jones, its menus champion local produce with creative flair, including festive dishes such as chicken liver parfait, butter-basted turkey and classic Christmas pudding.

Billy Hutchinson, owner of The Lesters Arms, added: “Service is a massive part of what we are about, and Mia has been fundamental in helping shape our culture and the way we treat guests.

“We wanted to recognise the fantastic progress she had made during the last eighteen months, so promoting her to general manager seemed a natural decision.

“Her personality is infectious, which will play a significant role in driving revenues through events, promotions and team leadership.”
