RMT Accountants appoints new Hexham lead
North East accountancy firm RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has strengthened its presence in West Northumberland with the appointment of Beverley Affleck to lead its new Hexham office and join the board of directors.
Beverley brings more than 30 years’ professional services experience, including extensive work with agricultural firms, owner-managed businesses and start-ups.
She began her career as a trainee accountant before spending twenty-three years at Rowlands Accountants, progressing to partner, and has since worked closely with businesses across the Tyne Valley.
In her new role, Beverley will support RMT’s plans to expand its client base and deepen relationships with organisations across the region. Part of the Sumer Group, RMT recently opened a second Hexham office to complement its long-standing base at Hexham Mart.
She said: “West Northumberland has a very close-knit business community where personal relationships and recommendations really matter.
“I’ve worked with a wide range of local businesses on all aspects of their finances and operations, with the challenges facing agricultural businesses, particularly around diversification and inheritance tax, being especially significant.
“I’m looking forward to helping RMT grow its presence locally and to showcase the full range of services and advice that our expert team can provide.
“RMT’s commitment to investing in local relationships mirrors my own, and the firm’s focus on growing its presence in West Northumberland made joining a very attractive opportunity.”
Established in 1954, RMT provides accountancy, tax, corporate finance, medical and restructuring services across the North East, North Yorkshire and Scotland.
Stephen Slater, managing director at RMT Accountants, added: “Beverley has been a core part of the commercial success of a wide range of Tynedale businesses and is a great addition to our growing local team.
“We’re continuing to invest in West Northumberland to ensure business owners and managers have access to the expertise and support they need to achieve their ambitions.”
