Williams Investment Management names first COO
Harrogate-based investment firm Williams Investment Management has promoted Abi Ostler to chief operating officer, marking the company’s first appointment to the role.
Abi joined the firm in 2024, reuniting with Duncan Williams and John Newsome after previous roles together at Cawood Smithie & Co. and Brown Shipley.
With a strong background in securities operations, she is recognised for her diligence, professionalism and commitment to exceptional client administration.
A member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, Abi brings deep operational and regulatory expertise that will support the firm’s focus on efficiency and high-quality client service.
Abi said: “I am delighted to be stepping into the role of chief operating officer.
“Williams Investment Management places genuine emphasis on client care and disciplined investment management, and I look forward to supporting the team as we continue to build on our success and shape the future of the firm.”
Abi’s promotion comes as Williams Investment Management strengthens its leadership team and continues to invest in a robust operational framework to underpin future growth.
Duncan Williams, director of Williams Investment Management, added: “Abi’s promotion is thoroughly deserved and reflects her outstanding capability, leadership qualities, and shared vision for the firm.
“Her experience and approach will play a vital role as we continue to grow and prepare the business for an exciting and successful 2026.”
