Publiship charts new future with EOT
A freight forwarding company dedicated to providing specialised logistics solutions for the publishing industry is reshaping its future as it adopts an employee-owned business model.
Liverpool-based Publiship has transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), enabling the firm to become wholly owned on behalf of its workforce.
The shift strengthens its long-standing focus on collaboration and shared responsibility, while providing a clear and stable structure for long-term succession.
Holding all company shares on behalf of employees, the Trust will allow staff to benefit collectively from the organisation’s ongoing success.
Employees will automatically become beneficiaries of the Trust and will play a greater role in shaping strategic priorities.
The existing management team will remain in place to ensure a smooth transition, while new board members James Doyle, Gerard Lyons and Andrew Hughes join Sam Higgins and Sue Kelly to support the company’s next phase of growth.
Founder and former majority shareholder Sam said: “Transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust was the natural next step for our business.
“We’ve always believed that our people are our greatest asset.
“By placing the company in the hands of those who drive its success every day, we are safeguarding our values, our independence, and our long-term vision.”
New chief executive James added: “This change recognises the dedication and expertise of every member of our team.
“We look forward to building an even more inclusive and innovative future together.”
The move was completed without external finance, supported by advisors Hill Dickinson and Claritas.
