Yarm housing scheme sparks early interest

A County Durham housebuilder has opened show homes at a new residential development in Yarm.

Banks Homes has unveiled two show homes at The Cornfields, its first Tees Valley site, where up to 109 new houses are being built on land off Green Lane.

The opening weekend drew dozens of visitors, with five homes already reserved ahead of the first completions early in the new year.

The development features 11 house types ranging from three to five bedrooms, including the Sheraton and Hawthorne show homes from Banks’ bespoke collection.

Properties come with smart heating systems, air source heat pumps and EV charging points, with selected homes offering ground-floor underfloor heating and 2.6m ceiling heights.

Aisling Ramshaw, sales and marketing director at Banks Homes, said: “Seeing the reaction of our guests at The Cornfields over our opening weekend gives us great confidence that we’re delivering levels of quality and desirability that match our ambitions.

“The Cornfields is just a short distance from the centre of Yarm, one of the region’s most beautiful and sought-after places to live, and we know there’s going to be a huge amount of demand for the new homes we’re now building.”

Part of the Banks Group, the developer is expanding its residential portfolio across the North East and Yorkshire, with additional sites progressing in West Rainton, Hambleton and three newly announced locations at Redmarshall near Stockton, High Shincliffe, near Durham City and Sedgefield, which will include more than 200 new homes.

Russ Hall, managing director at Banks Homes, added: “Banks Homes is bringing together striking design, future-proof sustainability and desirable locations to create a new blueprint for contemporary living.

“Our exceptional team has achieved a huge amount this year and it’s been brilliant to see growing numbers of house buyers happily moving into their new Banks homes.

“We’ve got a lot more to come next year, both within and outside the North East, and can’t wait to start building on the momentum we’ve created through 2025.”
