Housing provider unveils 122-home town scheme
A housing provider is set to break ground on a 122-home scheme.
L&G Affordable Homes is pressing ahead with a Lincolnshire development.
Officials say the Boston-based estate will feature 85 social rent properties and 37 shared ownership homes across a mix of one-to-three bedroom houses and bungalows.
They add the Wainfleet Road scheme – backed by £12 million Homes England funding – will “make a real difference” to a community with a 1100-plus housing waiting list.
Properties are set to include air source heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
Anette Simpson, L&G Affordable Homes’ director of development and partnerships, said: “As with all our projects, it is about more than homes – it is about creating opportunities for families to thrive.
“With support from Homes England, we’re delivering affordable, sustainable housing where it’s needed most.”
L&G Affordable Homes is working alongside Langcroft, Seagate Homes and Boston Borough Council on the scheme, and will additionally partner with Housing 21, which is delivering a further 36 social rent bungalows for retirement living.
Councillor John Baxter, Boston Borough Council’s portfolio holder for housing, added: “By supporting this development, we are helping to deliver a range of high-quality affordable homes that will make a real difference to families, couples and individuals across the borough.
“This project gives people the opportunity to stay and put down roots in Boston with a safe, attractive place they can call home.”
