Newcastle offices attract fresh wave of tenants
A Newcastle city centre office development has boosted its occupancy levels after securing a series of new lettings.
Generator Studios, a Grade II-listed building between Manors and the Quayside, has welcomed four new tenants, thanks to support from Bradley Hall’s Commercial Lettings department.
The 2015sq ft of space has been taken by Adecco, Office Angels, Blue Moon Marketing and Blue Grass Research, with the lettings facilitated by agency surveyor Lucy Mouter alongside joint agents Sanderson Weatherall and Parker Knights.
Owned by A.S.K. Geneva Limited and managed by Sorkin Brown Ltd, Generator Studios, which was constructed over 100 years ago to house the power system for Newcastle’s electric tramway, has been transformed into a modern workplace with breakout areas, an on-site gym, showers and superfast broadband.
Zack Sorkin, of Sorkin Brown, said: “It is great to see that Generator Studios is once again becoming the office building for the creative industries.
“The landlord has invested significantly in the building, creating new suites, a gym and multiple shared meeting rooms.
“Offering rates that are extremely competitive, Generator Studios provides occupiers with a modern, professional workspace and also acts as a collaborative hub where tenants can build relationships with each other.”
Office suites range from 500 to 4700 q ft, catering to a mix of growing and established businesses.
Recent improvements include the transformation of the lower ground floor into three smaller suites, meeting rooms and a gym, all now fully let.
Bradley Hall, which is headquartered on Newcastle’s Grey Street, supports commercial landlords and tenants across the UK through its network of 11 offices.
Lucy added: “The recent lettings at Generator Studios reflect the desire for businesses to work in person once more.
“Following Covid, we have seen an increase in businesses returning to an in-person or hybrid model, and the office spaces at Generator have been perfect for tenants to do so.
“The team at Generator have created something really special in their workspaces.
“It’s a quirky building with lots of creative tenants and plenty of on-site benefits, as well as a prime location close to the city centre, Quayside and transport links.
“Working alongside joint agents Sanderson Weatherall and Parker Knights, we have let a series of office spaces at Generator, and it has been a pleasure to support our clients to lease their fantastic workspaces to new tenants.”
