BGF strengthens board with non-executive appointment
BGF, the UK’s most active growth capital investor, has appointed Anita Dougall as a non-executive director, strengthening its board with deep entrepreneurial and data-led expertise.
Anita is chief executive and co-founder of Sagacity Solutions, a data intelligence business for consumer brands, which she established in 2005.
She brings more than 20 years’ experience building and scaling high-growth businesses, alongside a background in investment banking at NatWest Markets and senior roles at One2One, now EE.
Anita’s appointment builds on BGF’s focus on entrepreneurial leadership at board level and follows the addition of Rosaleen Blair CME as non-executive director in 2024.
In 2025, Anita and Sagacity were ranked second in The Independent E2E Forum’s list of the UK’s fastest-growing female-led businesses.
Anita said: “Having built and scaled a data-driven business, I understand the importance of combining investment, support and strong partnerships to unlock value.
“That’s why I’m pleased to be joining the board of BGF – an investor that offers not just funding, but a full suite of value-creation support for ambitious entrepreneurs looking to scale.
“The UK must deliver many more success stories across the broad-base of entrepreneurial business that exists here – but that can only happen if capital flows into innovation at the right time.
“BGF is a driving force behind this mission, which is one I am deeply committed to supporting.”
Anita’s appointment comes as BGF continues to invest in digital transformation and AI-driven innovation across its portfolio of more than 350 businesses and following its recent commitment to deploy £3 billion into high-potential UK companies over the next five years, including £300 million for female-powered businesses.
Ian Livingston (Lord Livingston of Parkhead), non-executive chair at BGF, added: “We are delighted to welcome Anita to BGF’s Board.
“Her track record in data innovation and scaling a high-performing business will assist BGF as it invests in some of the UK and Ireland's fastest-growing businesses.”
