Createc names new managing director
Cumbrian technology innovator Createc has appointed Dave Clark as managing director for its defence and security division, reflecting the continued growth of its work in the sector.
Headquartered in Cockermouth, Createc is a specialist technology company delivering advanced sensing, robotics and AI solutions for defence, security and critical infrastructure clients.
Dave has been with the company since shortly after its formation, progressing from researcher to director of operations, where he led complex projects from concept through to delivery.
He has played a key role in expanding Createc’s technical team and delivering high-impact programmes for organisations including the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory and the Home Office.
In his new role, Dave will work closely with defence and security partners to drive innovation across areas such as autonomous robotics, situational awareness and nuclear and CBRNe safety.
He said: “My focus will be on working closely with our customers and partners in defence and security, helping shape technology that delivers real operational value, and ensuring Createc continues to be a trusted SME partner.
“I am grateful to the team at Createc for their trust and support, and I look forward to strengthening relationships across the UK defence and security community as we take this next step.”
Dave’s appointment comes as Createc continues to scale, with ten new team members joining so far this year and further hires planned before the end of 2025.
Will Newsom, chief executive of Createc, added: “Dave’s appointment gives us clear senior leadership and accountability in the defence and security industry.
“It also ensures that defence and security has a clear voice at the top table as we plan Createc’s growth, and I am positive that Dave will continue to have a real impact on what we can offer at Createc.”
