StayForWork drives growth with new platform
A Midlands-based accommodation start-up is looking to accelerate its growth after launching a digital platform designed to simplify how construction firms house workers on long-term projects.
Solihull-based StayForWork has rolled out a new online booking platform that allows employers to browse, book and manage workforce accommodation across the UK.
Founded in 2023 by Adam Bassett and Courtney Cardin, the firm has grown rapidly, moving from a kitchen-table operation to achieving seven-figure turnover in less than two years.
Originally based in Knowle, the company relocated to Blythe Valley Innovation Centre – owned by Solihull Council and managed by the University of Warwick Science Park – as demand for contractor accommodation increased.
From its base in Solihull, StayForWork now provides access to more than 20,000 properties nationwide, housing workers on projects ranging from a few weeks to several years.
Co-founders Adam Bassett and Courtney Cardin said: “Moving to Blythe Valley Innovation Centre has provided the ideal environment for our next phase of growth.
“The new platform is a huge step forward for the business, and will allow us to support even more firms across the country with high-quality accommodation for their teams.”
Andy Stewart, centre manager at Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, added: “StayForWork has hit the ground running since Adam, Courtney and the team moved in.
“Like we do for many of our tenants, we can help StayForWork seamlessly expand within the centre should they want to.
“With the success it’s had already, I expect it won’t be long before that happens.”
StayForWork focuses exclusively on workforce accommodation, offering fully furnished serviced properties with equipped kitchens, inclusive bills and ongoing cleaning and maintenance.
Its new digital platform builds on this model, while the team continues to provide end-to-end support throughout each stay.
Councillor Heather Delaney, Solihull Council cabinet member for economy, business and skills, added: “StayForWork is a fantastic example of the entrepreneurial spirit thriving here in Solihull.
“In just two years, Adam and Courtney have grown from a kitchen table start-up to a national business with a seven-figure turnover, and their new digital platform marks another exciting milestone.
“We are proud that Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, owned by the Council, has provided the environment for this success, and we look forward to seeing StayForWork continue to grow, create opportunities, and showcase Solihull as a place where innovative businesses can flourish.”
