Water firm flushed with success after new deal
A water and wastewater treatment firm has secured a ten-year contract extension.
Alpheus is working with Derby City Council to oversee a wastewater treatment works plant at Pride Park.
Bosses say the company will maintain the base, carry out inspections, servicing work and asset upgrades, and monitor wells and treated discharge.
Huntingdon-headquartered Alpheus has worked with Derby City Council, consultancy Arup and the Environment Agency since 1997 on the Pride Park plant, treating more than 5.2 million cubic metres of contaminated groundwater.
Pride Park is home to Derby County Football Club, Derby Arena, retailers and businesses.
Chris Deadman, Alpheus managing director, said: “This long-term renewal is testament to our team’s commitment to delivering safe, sustainable and cost-effective water treatment services.
“We are proud of the role we play in supporting Pride Park’s continued growth while protecting the River Derwent and the wider environment.”
Councillor Kathy Kozlowski, Derby City Council cabinet member for governance and finance, added: “Pride Park has transformed into one of Derby’s most important destinations, and the effective management of its groundwater is an important part of that success.
“We are pleased to extend our partnership with Alpheus.”
