Developer secures 43-acre industrial hub backing
A developer has secured approval for a 43-acre industrial hub.
Premcor Estates has been backed to create Mode 18 at Rossington, near Doncaster.
Bosses say the venture includes a 17.5-acre pre-let electric vehicle-ready distribution yard and 450,000 sq ft of industrial and warehousing space.
They add work on a new link road and the site’s distribution yard is set to be completed by the summer.
Simon Hawkins, who founded Premcor alongside fellow co-director Rob Lane, said: “We have invested a great deal of time and resource in getting to this stage.
“Achieving planning approval and starting on site represents a major step forward.
“With consent now secured, we can move directly into delivery and begin building the infrastructure that underpins the entire scheme.”
Vincent Taylor, investment director at Doherty Baines, which advised Premcor on funding its site deal – which included buying land once occupied by Tanks & Vessels Industries – said: “We were delighted to help Premcor secure financing with South Yorkshire Pensions Authority.
“The first phase of the scheme will represent one of the highest-spec industrial outdoor storage developments in the UK, and will set a new standard for that sector.”
Andrew Stone, South Yorkshire Pensions Authority assistant director – investment strategy, added: “We look forward to seeing the benefits this scheme will bring to Rossington.”
