BSQ Group earns B Corp milestone
A corporate services group has started the year with a credentials boost that reflects a growing focus on responsible growth and impact-led business.
London-based BSQ Group, the holding company behind company formation specialist 1st Formations, has achieved B Corporation certification, marking a significant milestone in its approach to balancing commercial success with social and environmental responsibility.
The certification places the group among a global community of businesses meeting independently verified standards for transparency, accountability and impact.
Operating across entrepreneurship, technology, marketing and corporate services, BSQ Group also owns Rapid Formations and Quality Company Formations, collectively supporting thousands of entrepreneurs each year as they set up and scale businesses.
Following a 17-month assessment process, the group achieved an overall impact score of 87.6, exceeding the threshold required for certification.
Graeme Donnelly, founder of BSQ Group and 1st Formations, said: “We didn’t pursue B Corp certification for a badge.
“We did it to formalise the values that already guide our decisions and to hold ourselves to a higher standard in how we support entrepreneurs, care for our people, and reduce our impact on the planet.
“This certification reflects more than a year of collaboration and scrutiny across the business. It’s an important milestone, but it’s also the start of a longer commitment to continuous improvement and responsible growth.”
The process examined governance structures, employee policies, environmental management and operational practices.
BSQ Group embedded social impact into its Articles of Association, formalised board-level ethics frameworks and adopted inclusive employment policies, including a commitment to the Real Living Wage.
Environmentally, the group operates with zero waste to landfill and tracks its Scope one, two and three carbon emissions.
Community engagement also forms a central pillar of the group’s strategy.
Employees receive paid time to volunteer, while BSQ Group supports multiple charities through donations, partnerships and the provision of office space to charities that would otherwise struggle with London’s high rents.
BSQ Group will now undergo recertification every three years as it works to strengthen its impact across governance, people, community, environment and customers.
Graeme added: “B Corp has given us a clear framework to measure progress, not just intent.
“It’s helped us embed sustainability into everyday decision-making and sharpen how we deliver value.
“For us, certification isn’t a finish line but a promise to hold ourselves to higher standards while marking the next step in how we lead responsibly.
“For our customers, it means partnering with a company built on transparency, integrity, and the belief that good business and growth go hand in hand.”
