PTSG grows Scottish reach with Earth Tech deal
A building compliance and safety services provider is expanding its regional reach through a strategic acquisition aimed at strengthening specialist capability in a safety-critical area.
Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has acquired Earth Tech LPS, a Scottish-based business specialising in lightning protection testing, inspection and remedial works.
Founded more than 25 years ago and headquartered near Edinburgh, Earth Tech LPS has developed a strong reputation for technical expertise and compliance-led services.
The company works across public sector estates, infrastructure and commercial property, delivering recurring testing and inspection contracts with high renewal rates.
Earth Tech LPS will be integrated into PTSG’s existing lightning protection testing and inspection operation, which sits within its electrical services division.
Bosses say the deal significantly strengthens PTSG’s presence north of the border and builds on its position as the UK’s largest lightning protection provider.
They add that Earth Tech LPS will continue to be led operationally by its existing management team, with its former owners remaining involved during a structured handover to ensure continuity for customers and employees.
Greg Ward, chief executive of PTSG, said: “As with all PTSG acquisitions, our focus is on continuity, integration and long-term value creation.
“We look forward to welcoming the Earth Tech LPS team into the group and working closely with them as we look to further strengthen the UK’s leading lightning protection testing and inspection platform.”
Paul Teasdale, co-founder and chairman of PTSG, who led the transaction, added: “This is a high-quality acquisition that strengthens PTSG in a strategically important market.
“Earth Tech LPS brings deep technical capability, a strong customer base and a highly skilled engineering team, all of which complement our existing lightning protection operations.
“Scotland is a key growth region for us and this transaction gives us greater scale, density and operational leverage in that market.
“It further reinforces our successful strategy of acquiring complementary services and driving organic growth.
“Ours is a proven model that combines disciplined capital deployment with operational integration to create resilient, high-margin businesses delivering essential compliance services across the built environment.”
PTSG, which is headquartered in Castleford, West Yorkshire, operates across electrical services, access and safety, fire solutions, water treatment and building access.
The group employs more than 3200 specialists, serving over 90,000 customers and safeguarding around 400,000 buildings across the UK and Europe.
