Housebuilder set to start 122-home development
A housebuilder is set to break ground on a 122-property scheme.
Anwyl Homes has unveiled work will begin on the Sandon Gates estate later this month.
The Haydock-based development will feature two, three and four-bedroom homes, with bosses revealing nearly 40 properties will be built as affordable rent and shared ownership housing.
They add the first homes on the estate will be available in the summer.
John Grime, Anwyl Homes Lancashire managing director, said: “We’re eager to start work on site in Haydock, where there’s been a lack of new homes built in recent years.
Sandon Gates development has been designed to address local housing needs, including options for first-time buyers, families and downsizers, with 30 per cent of properties classed as affordable homes.
“We’re keen to deliver biodiversity net gain and will be encouraging wildlife to thrive by creating hedgehog highways, with gaps in fences for the creatures to travel through,
“We’ll also be installing bird and bat boxes on buildings and on trees, and be retaining existing trees and hedgerows and carrying out additional planting.”
