Watling appointed to sell former Merit HQ
A Northumberland-based commercial property is being brought to market following the administration of a specialist construction business, creating a new opportunity for office occupiers in the region.
Watling Real Estate has been appointed by administrators to sell a 10,106sq ft purpose-built office building in Cramlington, formerly the headquarters of modular construction firm Merit.
The appointment follows the administration of several Merit Group companies in November 2025.
Located at 8 Silverton Court on Northumberland Business Park, the three-storey property sits in a prominent position with strong transport links to the A19 and A1.
The building offers high-quality, open plan office accommodation and is available with vacant possession, while the site also benefits from 37 on-site staff and visitor car parking spaces.
Rob Cruikshank, associate director at Watling, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to acquire a modern purpose built office building that is prominently positioned at the front of Northumberland Business Park.
“In recent years the business park has become an established out-of-town office location within the region.
“Our clients are seeking offers for the freehold interest in the office building, and we will also consider offers to acquire the space on a leasehold basis.”
