Keepmoat's 500-home scheme approved
A North West residential development has moved a step closer as plans progress to deliver hundreds of new homes.
Keepmoat has secured planning permission from Halton Borough Council for a 500-home development on land off Hale Gate Road in Halebank.
The scheme represents an investment of more than £116 million and will deliver a mix of new housing types aimed at meeting local demand.
At least 20 per cent of the homes will be delivered in partnership with a housing provider to offer affordable options, while land has also been set aside for a future local centre and a primary school.
The plans include the creation of open green spaces, alongside improvements to footpaths and cycleways.
Beyond construction, the developer is working with Halton Adult Learning Centre, Hale Bank Primary School and Riverside College to promote careers in construction, with pupils invited to help name the new development as part of community engagement efforts.
Katie Dean, land and partnerships director at Keepmoat, North West, said: “This is a significant milestone in seeing much needed homes being built in the area and we’re thrilled to have secured the reserved matters permission for this important new development.
“We’re committed to creating sustainable, multi-tenure communities that prioritise well designed neighbourhoods with high quality homes, green spaces and abundant connections into the existing footpath and cycle networks.
“We’ve benefitted by building on the blueprint of development which Harworth Estates set last year, and we’re genuinely looking forward to investing in the community and continuing our commitments in working in partnership with local stakeholders throughout the delivery.”
