PKF Littlejohn Advisory appoints consultant

PKF Littlejohn Advisory has appointed haulage and logistics specialist Ian Jones as consultant, strengthening its regional team.

Ian joins the business with more than 30 years’ experience advising organisations across the commercial road transport and haulage sector.

He will focus on developing relationships with key industry bodies and operators, supporting PKF Littlejohn Advisory’s work within the sector.

Ian previously co-founded legal advisory practice Backhouse Jones and has held a number of senior industry roles, providing strategic counsel to operators nationwide.

His recent work has centred on net zero and decarbonisation, key priorities for transport and logistics businesses.

Ian said: “Those operating in the haulage sector are facing a multitude of challenges in both the long and short term.

“It is imperative that companies focus on the here and now.

“As part of my role, I’ll be meeting with key industry stakeholders to better understand their concerns and to help them prepare for the next 12 months and beyond.

“I’m excited to get started, meeting companies across the country and helping clients reduce friction, assist with growth, and capture value.”

Paul Williams, partner and national head at PKF Littlejohn Advisory, added: “Ian brings a wealth of experience in operational and financial recovery, having immersed himself in the haulage and logistics industry.

“Throughout his career, he has developed a deep understanding of the issues impacting the transport sector.

“His appointment not only further enhances our team but continues to demonstrate our commitment in delivering solutions and services across a whole range of sectors and industries across the UK.”

PKF Littlejohn Advisory provides specialist restructuring, advisory and transaction services to businesses across the UK, operating from offices including its Manchester base.

Paul Smith, partner at PKF Littlejohn Advisory, added: “Over the past six months we’ve expanded our Manchester team, both in terms of numbers but also in experience and service offerings.

“The addition of Ian will ensure that we are able to focus efforts on helping firms within the transportation industry navigate its specific sector challenges.

“We’re looking forward to further building our Manchester presence over the coming months.”
